Dombrovski's five-year struggle with contractual disputes appeared to finally approach a resolution satisfactory enough for Dombrovski to release his debut recording of older original demo material, entitled Intro, on his own "Dombrovski Music" label in February 2003.
DOMBROVSKI: Yeah, in the summer of 2002, with the help of counsel, I finalized, signed, and filed the documents necessary to revoke the power of attorney I inadvertently signed away, plus I severed the contractual nexuses clouding the lawful position I wanted to be in, and I recovered rights I waived away without reservation long ago. With all that behind me, I could begin moving forward musically. I was no longer encumbered.
DOMBROVSKI: I wanted to summarize my past as a writer so I would have something to show for the years gone before. I put together a compilation of the most listenable of my original demo material covering the years 1989 through 1995. That compilation became Intro. It contains seven songs. With the exception of one synth-pop song that contains vocals ("The World Isn't Home Yet"), all the material is contemporary instrumental. It's synth, keyboard-dominated music with an adult sensibility, and some of the songs crossover to Progressive Electronica. I would also say a sense of introspection pervades most of the material, too. All the material from Intro was recorded in home recording/project studios. I wrote and recorded that stuff between the ages of 21 and 27, so as of this interview in 2003, that's going back a maximum of approximately 14 years ago to a minimum of approximately 8 years ago.
DOMBROVSKI: My miniscule recording label, "Dombrovski Recordings," is a recording company with a roster of one--me. It doesn't get much simpler than that. It promotes my recording projects.
