Circa January 2001, Dombrovski jammed live on stage on percussion along with the latin/mediterranean/urban-influenced artist/vocalist/guitarist Battista in San Diego, CALIFORNIA, U.S.A.; however, once again, the majority of Dombrovski's time through 2002 was spent with counsel in Los Angeles, CALIFORNIA, resolving the contractual problems originally discovered in March 1998.
DOMBROVSKI: I have a great friend named Dr. Louis Turi. Louis is an amazing astrologer. Louis is from Provence, FRANCE, where the world-famous astrologer NOSTRADAMUS was born. Well, when Louis lived in San Diego, I would cruise down there from Los Angeles to see him. Louis is a very social guy, and a lot of his clients end up becoming friends. Also, Louis is a musician. He was educated at the Royal Academy of Music in London, ENGLAND. Louis knew I was a musician, so he told me to check out this really passionate latin/mediterranean/urban-influenced music a friend of his wrote, arranged, produced, sang, and performed. I checked out the CD cover and saw this guy on the front named "Battista." I listened to this CD entitled Fuego, and the music was hot, plus the production was first-class.
DOMBROVSKI: I was in San Diego on December 30, 2000, when Louis and I decided to go see Battista perform live at a club there named Trattoria La Strada. Louis introduced me to Battista and told Battista I was a musician. Well, the night began, and before long, Battista had the entire crowd in a dancing frenzy. I don't know exactly how it happened, but Battista called me up on stage, and I was jamming on timbales with his group. It was cool.
DOMBROVSKI: Battista gave me a call in Los Angeles, and we talked about women and life, plus he was curious about what the hell I was doing musically in Los Angeles, which at that time was nothing. 2001 was the year I had to make some major moves to resolve my contractual problems. Those moves affected everything--my finances, where I was living--however, legally things were at a turning point. That was good. I didn't want music, or anything else in my life, dissipating my resolve to correct my contractual problems. I wanted to finish what I started. That was my sole focus, not music.
