NOVUS PRODUCTIONS: 1996
Dombrovski also took time in October 1996 to incorporate and serve as president for the DELAWARE-based corporation "NOVUS PRODUCTIONS," additionally registered in CALIFORNIA as a foreign corporation. NOVUS PRODUCTIONS was a commercial vehicle used by Dombrovski to bring his productions to market, and both DAMAGE's Oblivion: (Opus One) and DAMAGE's Dust: (Opus Two, 1996) were released with NOVUS PRODUCTIONS serving as record label. NOVUS PRODUCTIONS was affiliated with the New York City branch of the performing rights organization BMI.
DOMBROVSKI: I had so much time, capital, and money invested in music that utilizing the corporation to distinguish the non-music-making aspects of my life from the music-making aspects was an important step in self-clarification. Also, the corporation made doing business easier because those with the ways and means to make things happen recognized an intent they could support. People don't always see that in musicians. The corporation brought form and structure to certain issues, plus a sense of etiquette, and the corporation provided a common forum for all parties involved to work things out. It made sense at the time and was helpful.
