Studio Chopping: 1993 - 1996
Dombrovski spent the remainder of 1993 through 1996 buried in his recording studio, actively rejecting offers to join various bands as drummer after his latest stint with THE JOHN DOUGHERTY TRIO, instead choosing to hone and polish his songwriting, composition, keyboard, guitar, production, and engineering skills.
DOMBROVSKI: I was always uneasy about limiting myself to tempo, rhythm, timbre, and dynamics, which are the primary considerations when you're drumming. I've always been very curious about: acoustics, melody, harmony, arrangement, orchestration, electronics, and engineering, too. In my home recording studio, I was kinda' putting myself through my own hands-on, career-exploratory program. Getting music out your head and into the ears of a large number of people is more difficult than it initially appears. I had some of the tools at my disposal to learn why.
DOMBROVSKI: During that time, I received calls from bands wanting me to join or audition. Usually, I would just tell them I'd already been in several bands, and now I needed to do my own thing. At that point, I didn't want the obligations on my time being in a band incurred.
